GVMH announces
million
expansion project
TO MEET AN
ever-growing demand for outpatient ser-
vices, GVMH soon will begin a major facility expansion.
e project will focus on multiple areas, including
oncology, cardiology, imaging, surgery, endoscopy, labo-
ratory and emergency services, according to Randy S.
Wertz, chief executive o cer.
e project will address a number of space needs,
and, once the expansion is nished, patients will enjoy
a much smoother healthcare experience.
“We are excited that individuals who need outpatient
services will be able to walk through the doors and nd
what they need located in one area of the hospital,” Wertz
says.
ROOM FOR NEW PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
The
million project includes nearly
,
square
feet of new space on the hospital’s rst oor, roughly
,
square feet on the second oor for future growth,
and additional space on the ground oor to address
support service and mechanical needs.
“We have watched outpatient services grow
signi cantly, so this investment will allow us not only
to better address the current needs of our patients
but also to develop new programs and services over time,”
Wertz explains. “Our future success depends on our ability
to meet the healthcare needs of the community.”
Site work is expected to begin this summer, and
construction will begin in October. The project should
be completed by December
.
“We are committed to taking action to not only
strengthen our healthcare service delivery capabilities,
but to strengthen Clinton and the surrounding area,”
Wertz says.
