GVMH FOUNDATION
CELEBRATING A
QUARTER-CENTURY OF GIVING
THE PAST YEAR
has been one of celebrations for the
GVMH Foundation, which marked its th anniversary
in February. Because of the continued generosity of do-
nors, the foundation’s achieve-
ments have been signi cant.
Successes have included:
The
th annual Diabe-
tes Walk, which has raised
,
in the past decade to
help scores of patients better
manage their illness with educa-
tion, supplies and prescriptions.
e rst year for the Continu-
ing Education Awards Program,
which provides scholarships for
GVMH employees to pursue
career-related education, train-
ing and certi cation opportuni-
ties—a program that employees are helping fund with
their own gi s to the foundation.
A renewed commitment to the Cardiac Rehabilita-
tion program, which the foundation helped fund in
and continues to support with the purchase of
new equipment to help heart patients on the road to
recovery.
Gi s to the foundation touch lives in ways both
big and small. Perhaps the
help comes in the form of free
diapers for expectant and new
mothers who complete classes
to help them and their babies
stay healthy. Maybe the help
takes the shape of an iPad that
allows a cancer patient to pass
the long hours during treat-
ment. e assistance could be
the gi of life itself through the
many arti cial external de bril-
lators the foundation has helped
area school districts purchase.
Every dollar counts and has
an impact.
