In 2019, that will include the love of donors. On Feb. 14, the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation will mark 30 years Save the date! The GVMH Foundation’s 30th anniversary gala will be held Saturday, Feb. 16. To purchase tickets, please call 660-890-7108 . GVMH Foundation celebrates 30 years of touching lives. Two days later, the Foundation’s anniversary gala will celebrate those successes. “We love to tell patient stories and can’t wait to share,” says Deanna Hendrich, GVMH Director of Development and Communications. “What a perfect backdrop to remember where we’ve been and look toward where we’re going.” Hendrich says stories and numbers work hand in hand to show how the Foundation steps in when needed. She offers these examples. When a heart attack happens, seconds count. The Foundation has bought or helped buy 19 automated external defibrillators. The devices can help bystanders restart a person’s heart without training. “Putting AEDs in schools, buses, police cars and public buildings throughout the area we serve ensures help is close at hand,” Hendrich says. Heart health has been a focus from the beginning, Hendrich says. To date, $208,000 has been spent on equipment for cardiac rehab patients. The ongoing investments allow patients to log more than 1,000 visits each month in Clinton, Warsaw and Osceola. Recent events brought to light the need for Stop the Bleed kits. Law enforcement officers wear the kits, which include supplies that save lives. The Foundation purchased 50 kits for the Henry County Sheriff ’s Department and Clinton Police Department. The Foundation has raised about $2 million during its 30-year history. The “power of one” remains key, Hendrich says. “We receive gifts of all sizes, and each starts with one person who decides to help,” she says. “Large, small or in between, the combined gifts become powerful.” 1 9 208 ,000 50 1 Learn more about making a tax-deductible gift or including Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in an estate plan.
